Indie pop/ rock band Cults played to a large and enthusiastic crowd at UAA’s Wendy Williamson Auditorium in Anchorage Friday, Feb. 21.

Cults are Brian Oblivion (on guitar) and Madeline Follin (singer), two New York based twenty-somethings who made their musical debut in 2010. The pair bring in friends to fill out their live shows. Their Anchorage show featured a drummer, bassist and a keyboard/guitar/xylophone player.

Local three-piece Turquoise Boy opened the show with a high energy 30-minute set.

These days Turquoise Boy is a three-piece, featuring Adam Waldron on drums, Winston Motecillo on bass and founding member Derek Mangrobang fronting the band. The above song is a cover of “Can’t Hardly Wait” by The Replacements.
