If you missed out on the pre-Halloween festivities last weekend, well then you missed your chance to witness round one of excellent music and awesome costumes. (It’s okay, there’s always this weekend, right?) The PRESS dispatched our very own photographer Kerry Tasker to grab a few shots from various parties around town. Here’s what turned up.
ANIMAL SOUNDS PRODUCTION’S 2ND ANNUAL MASQUERADE BALL AT THE TAP ROOT PUBLIC HOUSE, FRIDAY NIGHT
On Friday night, Sophia Street, Smile Ease and The Modern Savage kept the Tap Root dance floor in good spirits before chip-tun duo Starship Amazing took to the stage and closed out the 2nd Annual Masquerade Ball.
INTERNATIONAL GALLERY OF CONTEMPORARY ART’S DEJAVOODOO PARTY, SATURDAY
IGCA’s DeJaVoodoo party was something else. There were voodoo dolls, crazy costumes, delicious food and even a tarot card reader. The Super Saturated Sugar Strings, dressed in terrifying rag doll costumes, opened the show with some spooky-good music and The Modern Savage (again!) pumped up the crowd of Halloween-clad adults. I have to say, there were some insanely good costumes at this thing. My favorites were the cactus and Joan of Arc(tic). I encourage you to take a look and get inspired for this weekend.
