Play list: In this moment

This week’s playlist was a little mini experiment. I asked my social media networks what everyone was listening to today. This playlist is a compilation of what the people in our community (some of them are my friends, some of them are professional contacts, some of them are strangers.) are listening to right now.
It’s an interesting mix. Shannon L. said she’s been listening to White Town’s “Your Woman” completely out of the blue. She says, “I don’t even know why, but I literally can not stop listening to that White Town song, and it’s two decades old!” Kat C. has been grooving to Ida Maria’s “Queen of the World” all day and for some bizarre reason my husband contributed a cover of Justin Bieber’s “Beauty and a Beat” by Brett Domino. Alex Ede (also known as local DJ Alex the Lion) brings his tastemaker sense of timing to the table, contributing Kendrick Lamar and Atoms for Peace tracks. Rachel Drinkard, Press contributor and my predecessor at the entertainment desk, recommended “Heartbeat” by the Kopecky Family Band.
I’ve added a few of my own as well, namely Tal Backman’s 1999 jam “She’s So High,” a song I had completely forgotten I loved until it popped up on a mix CD I received from local funnyman and Press blog contributor Matt Collins this week.
I’ve made this playlist collaborative, so if you’re on Spotify and want to contribute a song or two feel free.
